Our background is working within London and the commercial sector with a few residential, leisure retail projects thrown in for good measure. We have gained our experience by learning from building surveyors and building services engineers and working with project managers, quantity surveyors, and contractors to know our stuff!
Working alongside the building services sector has given us a unique advantage in understanding how building services are integrated into the building. We know how these elements work, space they need to work efficiently and meet building regulations such as light levels, heating and cooling, fresh air changes, access and safety. Knowing these elements and their principles allows us to coordinate these services into the architectural fabric, cleanly and aesthetically. This enables the finished project to not only physically feel amazing and look outstanding upon completion.
We have a unique perspective that allows us to take a more holistic approach with our clients. By understanding these elements, we can inform our clients of the project's actual scale in terms of design, cost, and time to achieve this. For example, some of the high prices in a project come from portions of the build that you never see again but you would soon miss if not installed. Therefore, understanding these elements and why they are essential is fundamental to the project's success and the level of creativity we can explore.
Sometimes the most fantastic idea isn't suitable for the project and budget, and that's okay; it just means we need to modify it a little to suit the parameters we have. This means we creatively find a way to integrate these ideas into a space that grows with you and more, but crucially ensure that you also understand the modifications and why they are essential to the project's design outcomes.
We are a multi-talented bunch. Although we seem young, we have a fully qualified chartered Architect, someone who enjoys a spot of photography and another who upcycles furniture in their spare time, so we are a creative bunch!
